ECH Short Courses

We offer a range of education and training programs in two broad categories, ACFE and General Adult Education courses.

ACFE (Adult & Community Further Education) FUNDED – These courses are subsidized by the government and are directed toward developing or improving workplace skills in order to encourage a return to study or develop employment opportunities. ECH ensures a high standard of pre-accredited training through qualified instructors and encourages students to seek Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competency (RCC). Examples of  ACFE funded course are:

Computer courses. These include flexible computer workshops for all experience  levels and Adobe In Design desktop publishing.

Adult Literacy. These include – developing your writing skills through creative writing, adult literacy and numeracy for individuals and  for those with a disability.

Permaculture. This is a 16 week certificated course facilitated by Telopea Mountain Permaculture. Conducted annually, it commences at the beginning of the second term of the year.

GENERAL ADULT EDUCATION – These courses are provided on a fee for service basis. We attempt to provide a wide range of courses that are developed either in response to individual requests or by identifying  community needs. We are always aware of the need to both respond to the changing demands of our community as well as to provide courses that will expand beyond what is typically available in our metro fringe community. We are always open to prospective tutors wishing to offer a course.

Examples of our broad and ever changing general program are:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Computer based Courses
  • Bushfire Preparedness
  • Personal Development
  • Fun and Relaxation
  • Arts and Craft
  • Cooking
  • Environmental Care
  • First Aid
  • Kids Programs
